An outstanding secondary school in Bournemouth is looking for an experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead and develop their inclusive provision. This pivotal role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives and outcomes of students with additional needs.
Role Summary
Lead the strategic development and operational delivery of SEND provision across the school.
Coordinate and monitor support for students with a wide range of additional needs, including EHCPs, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
Collaborate closely with teaching staff to ensure effective differentiation and inclusive practices in the classroom.
Manage a team of teaching assistants and specialist staff, providing training and support.
Build strong partnerships with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure holistic support.
Candidate Profile
Qualified SENCO with statutory accreditation or equivalent experience.
Proven track record in SEND leadership within a secondary school setting.
Strong knowledge of current SEND legislation, assessment, and intervention strategies.
Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Passionate about inclusion and improving educational outcomes for all students.
